OVER a dozen vintage tractors took to the roads for the 'Tractors and Trotters' run on March 26 to raise money for Cancer Research.

The fleet of vintage vehicles set off from The Duke pub in Bratton and made its way through the village of Imber, which was open to the public over the Easter weekend, before heading back to The Duke.

The drivers were then treated to a hog roast at the pub following the run, from a pig donated by Nigel Hornbuckle, and all trimmings provided by landlord and landlady Andy and Lynn Hobbs.

Mr Hobbs said: “We did the run last year and it was a huge success so we decided to do it again.

“The day was a great success, everyone seemed to enjoy it despite the wet weather and it was all for a good cause.

“Sadly one of the tractors didn’t make it, a little Massey Harris struggled with the hill and had to be towed the rest of the journey by a fellow rider on his recently restored Fordson Major.

“I think people were happy to get back in the warmth of the pub, that’s for sure.”

The Tractors and Trotters run raised just under £250 for Cancer Research.
