WILTSHIRE Police have been made aware of several incidents involving rogue traders in the Westbury and Warminster areas in recent weeks.

Men have been attending properties and offering to carry out work, before advising the job is bigger than they first expected and that they need to go away and come back to finish the job, but failing to do so.

Police are advising people to contact them if they believe a rogue traders is at their door.

It is also advised by Wiltshire Police that people should keep their doors shut and locked at all times and to not open the door to any unknown person.

They are also advising to never agree to have work carried out by someone who is just passing, or believe them that work needs to be done at all.

They say that if work might need to be done, quotes should be acquired from three companies beforehand and friends should be asked for recommendations.
