MATRAVERS pupils enjoyed a 'night under the stars' themed send-off at Cumberwell for their school prom on Monday, July 4.

Pupils from Year 11 donned their tuxedos and dresses to celebrate the end of their time at the school before moving onto other sixth forms or choosing to stay at the Westbury school.

School pastor Nicola Dovey said: “It was a very successful evening and all the pupils really enjoyed themselves. It was the perfect send-off.

“All the pupils really got into the spirit and this was highlighted by some fantastic arrivals on the night.

“There was a vintage fire engine, a horse and carriage, a Ferrari, a classic American taxi and many more interesting and exciting arrivals.

“Lindon Parmley was Prom King and Georgie Goff Prom Queen. There was a photo booth, lots of dancing and a firework display to end the night.

“There were plenty of emotional parents there and it was quite emotional for staff too.

“All the pupils worked very hard this year and we wish them all the best with their results in August.”
