ORGANISERS of the Village Pump festival are furious after nearly £300 of ticket money has gone missing from a bar in Westbury.

Festival organisers made an agreement with Charlie’s Bar in Westbury Market Place to put tickets on sale there, but are now regretting it after £280 vanished.

Festival spokesman Clive Woodland said: “The money had apparently been tucked behind the till on the bar.

“There should have been £280, according to the number of tickets sold.

“Several weeks ago we offered them the opportunity to sell tickets for us in exchange for a couple of complimentary tickets. Needless to say we won’t allow them to sell our tickets again.

“It’s incredibly disappointing. These were evening tickets that we made available at a reduced price for the people of Westbury, to encourage locals to sample what fans come from all over the country to see.”

The Village Pump Folk Festival is on July 22-24 at the White Horse Country Park. Visit www.villagepumpfolkfestival.co.uk for more info and tickets.
