Neil John Ratcliffe, of Warminster Road, pleaded guilty to the charges and was hit with a fine of £146, had his licence endorsed with 10 penalty points and had his licence endorsed for not having third party insurance.
North Wiltshire Magistrates’ Court heard how the 54-year-old was stopped by police on May 3, where he later gave a blood sample of 271mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood – the legal driving limit is 80mg.
Ratcliffe, who also had to pay court costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £30, was also driving a Mini Cooper without third party insurance when police arrested him.
