WESTBURY Shed’s brand new workshop is now open and ready for action following a grand opening ceremony on Saturday, September 17.

Workshop One, located in Alfred Street, officially opened its doors with Westbury mayor Stehen Andrews cutting the ribbon.

It will now welcome members of the group to sessions every Wednesday and Saturday afternoon to have a catch up and work on projects together.

Dan Gmaj, chairman of Westbury Shed, said: “This workshop was the culmination of a lot of hard work so we’re really pleased to have it open.

“It was chaotic at times but we’re there now. This marks a big milestone for Westbury Shed; it’s almost a year to the day that we had our first meeting.

“It will be a place where people can bring their own projects to work on with our selection of tools, or work on group projects such as our Polytunnel.

“Or, it will simply be a place people can come to and have a chat and enjoy the camaraderie – it will be many different things for many different people.

“We want to be a helpful asset to the community and want to encourage people to get out and about.”

Workshop One will welcome its growing group of members every Wednesday and Saturday between 2pm and 6pm.

Sessions will be available for a £3 contribution and allotment sessions will be continuing too, between 10am and 1pm on Wednesday and Saturday.
