SINCE The Three Daggers launched in the heart of Edington in 2010, it has grown to become the hub of the village and boasts a glowing reputation further afield.

A microbrewery, farm shop, outside catering and luxury B&B accommodation have all been added to the pub premises – and there’s more in the pipeline.

The business, which employs 84 people in a range of roles, is going to expand further: from next year it will become the Three Daggers Country Inn and Spa and has also just had its licence approved to hold weddings in the brewery.

Operations manager Neil Glasspool said: “It’s a very exciting time for the business, we’re always looking to improve it and make additions, never standing still.

"Lots of people who drive past think it’s just a pub, but there’s so much more than that going on behind the scenes.

“It’s a very unique umbrella business with six separate operations.

“We’re really looking forward to getting the spa open next year, hopefully around Easter, and also to hosting weddings in the brewery, it has taken a lot of hard work but it’ll be a unique experience.”

The pub’s new menu boasts hearty, country food with ingredients which are almost all sourced from its very own Priory Farm in the village, while the brewery, located opposite, brews a selection of award winning ales to tempt all visitors.

That brewery, which opened in 2013, is headed up by experienced brewer Michael Andrews, who before joining the pub worked with brewers like Moles, Ushers and Guinness.

The 46-year-old said: “As this is a small brewery to what I’m used to, it’s far more hands-on and we’re involved in the product from start to finish, which I really enjoy. We brew a very nice selection of ales with something for all seasons.”

"My personal favourite is the Daggers Edge, a 4.7 per cent bitter, but the most popular choice with customers is the Daggers Ale.

“We grow our own hops in a farm in Edington, which is quite unusual, and one of the things that sets us apart.”
