THERE’S a spring in the step of everyone who works at TF Tuned, based in the West Wilts Trading Estate.

And that’s because the business, which was established in 2004 and currently has 13 employees, is Europe's leading independent mountain bike suspension specialist.

With eight full-time technicians who have vast experience in repairing shocks and forks, the two main types of suspension, the business tunes and repairs 6,000 riders' suspensions a year.

Company boss Ian Kennedy said: “The business has expanded quite a lot over the past few years due to the growth in popularity of mountain biking and because we’ve established ourselves as the main players in our field.

“It’s a very niche industry but we still have a lot of competitors. We’re certain we’re the biggest mountain bike servicing centre in Europe and possibly in the whole world.

“We service bikes for all sorts of riders from amateurs through to professionals and have a very efficient service which enables us to receive someone’s suspension before returning it to them two days later, no matter where they live in the UK.

“We are a very sociable team who all enjoy mountain biking and we regularly get out on our bikes together – sometimes with a few pub trips chucked in along the way for good measure.”

Technician Dave Whitmore is the longest serving member of staff at TF Tuned and has been honing in his craft since 2004, when he joined.

He said: “I really like the technical side of working here and there’s a really friendly atmosphere with lots of banter, which is what has kept me here after all these years.

“It's a very efficient service in which we’ll receive the suspension, inspect it, see what needs doing, carry out the work before giving it a clean and handing it to the office who do all the invoicing stuff.

"Then it goes over to the packing department who wrap it up nicely and ship it back to the customer.”

The company also distributes car parts to people all over the world from its website: www.tftuned.com
