A MINI festival will take place next year to mark the life of keen biker Stuart Lange, who died following a crash earlier this year.

Friends and relatives of Mr Lange have been busy organising Lange Fest, which will take place at Frome Rugby Club on July 2 2017, a year on since the popular Dilton Marsh man died.

The dad-of-two died on July 1 when his motorcycle was involved in a collision in Clink Road, Frome.

Close friend and one of the event organisers, Simon Boon, said: “We’re hoping to see a good turnout at the event. He was a very popular man so we think there will be.

“If it’s a success we will make it an annual event as the rugby club has kindly agreed to let us do so.

“It will be a day which the whole family can enjoy, with a bouncy castle, live music, a barbecue, stalls selling a range of products and much more.

“It’s a case of the more the merrier so we'd like to see lots of people enjoying what should be a very fun day."

At the 38-year-old’s funeral in July a procession with hundreds of bikers filled the streets in Frome and Dilton Marsh and that will be replicated on the day of Lange Fest with a mass ride out at 10.30am.

Entry to the event will be free but the ride out will cost £5, with money being donated to Wiltshire Air Ambulance.

Mr Lange was renowned for helping out with a number of charitable activities in the community including organising a charity motorcycle ride in memory of April Jones, who was murdered in 2012.

Melksham-based GripIt Fixings has become the first company to sponsor the event and the organising committee is hoping more will show their support.
