A MOTHER-of-two from Westbury has vowed to tackle the tough course on ITV show Ninja Warrior for a second time, after falling at the final hurdle on her first attempt.

Charlett Elcock, 31, of Hawkeridge, has been training to take part in the show for the second time ever since she first took part in filming for the show, where contestants complete an assault course which includes tackling climbing and fitness challenges.

Miss Elcock, who owns Pole-da-cise pole fitness in Westbury and Melksham, will make her debut on the popular ITV show next Saturday, reaching the final stage called The Wall.

“The girls at my studio saw an advert for contestants and told me to go for it. I wasn’t sure but they kept asking so I filled out an online form," she said.

"I had just got back from a month of holidaying with my children when I saw the email asking me to come for an audition. I made my way to Swansea where I took part in a course and then spoke a bit about myself.”

After being given a place on the show, Miss Elcock, her children Kadence and L'maia and a group of family and friends made their way to Manchester so everyone could watch her take part in the filming last June.

“I was so nervous, I was about the 16th person to run the course that day. I was watching the others do it and seeing them fall in the water and all I thought was that I was not going in that water. Even though I didn’t make it up The Wall I was very proud of myself and how far I had got,” she said.

“The producer told me that I should sign up again, so I filled out my application and I have been training very hard. I have been running up walls to practice, I want to beat it this time.

"When I was accepted last year, ITV came down to my studio and filmed me with my kids. I think they were impressed because I am young and own my own business, they had never had any mums on the show either. I will 100 per cent be running up that wall this time,” Miss Elcock added.
