A WESTBURY couple are lighting up the streets of the town with their impressive display of Christmas lights, as well as raising money for charity.

Every year Andy and Christine Burden illuminate their house in Coach Lane, and this year their light display is in memory of Gill Down, who sadly lost her three year battle with Cancer last December, aged only 46, leaving behind her husband Kevin and ten-year-old daughter Hannah.

Mr Burden said: “We hadn’t known Gill very long when she was diagnosed with terminal cancer, but she was a lovely lady, so full of fun, and we were all devastated when she passed away just before Christmas.

“Gill was a supporter of the BCUSG charity, having been treated at the Cancer Unit throughout her illness, and we feel it is only right that this year’s display is in her memory.”

Marie Brichard-Parsons, a member of the Trowbridge Fundraising Branch of the Charity, said: “We are very grateful for Andy & Cristina’s support.

“Gill was a friend of the charity, who supported many of our local fundraising events, both by helping to organise them or by bringing along a group of friends to join in the fun and fundraising”.
