WARMINSTER School are proud to announce Major Sally Hennis from the Ice Maiden Team will be giving an inspirational lecture at the school.
The Ice Maiden team covered 1,700km of the Antartic using muscle power alone, pulling sledges and battling temperatures of minus 50 degrees and wind speeds of over 60mph during their three month journey.
Major Hennis will talk about her journey, experiences and setting a goal, dreaming big and having the determination to make it a reality.
Stella Aldridge, Deputy Head of Development & Alumnae said : "It seems fitting that in the Year of the Woman and 100 years since women received the right to vote, that six British women have become the first all female team to use muscle power alone to ski coast to coast across Antarctica. We look forward to her visit."
The lecture will take place at 7.30pm on April 24 in the Thomas Arnold Hall.
