Royal visit starts at Wessex MS Therapy Centre, Warminster,
4:59pm Thursday 6th December 2012 in Wiltshire
The Duke of Kent completed his tour of business’ in Wiltshire today, with a surprise request for an encore of music.
The Duke began the morning by visiting Wessex MS Therapy Centre, in Warminster, where he met the staff, carers and members.
Rosie Eliot, manager of the centre, said: ”We were honoured that the Duke of Kent recognised the work of the centre. We are self funded and work really hard to provide an excellent service.”
The centre provides therapies, information and practical and emotional support for people with multiple sclerosis, their carers and families.
The Duke then went on to tour the workshop and main office of Anthony Best Dynamics, in Bradford on Avon, and marked the expansion of the business by lifting the first piece of turf for the new offices.
The company designs and manufactures specialised systems and supplies advanced testing systems to the global motor industry. They have outgrown their facilities and are hoping to relocate to a proposed Kingston Farm development to cope with the growing demand of their services.
The Duke completed his visit to the county with a tour of Wiltshire Music Centre, in Bradford on Avon, and listened to music performed by talented young local musicians who have honed their skills at the centre.
Once the concert band had completed their festive piece, the Duke went on to congratulate everyone on how far the centre had come and the need to continue teaching music today.
He then requested an encore, before taking to his seat once more to listen to the talented musicians.
