Come and enjoy the trains THE organisers of the 20th annual Calne model rail show hope to make it a family friendly event where youngsters can let off steam this Saturday and Sunday,10am-5pm.

The show, which attracted nearly 2,000 people last year, will have 30 different stands showing trains of all shapes and sizes.

It will include 15 working layouts representing the railways of Britain, Germany, Switzerland, the USA and Australia from the 1920s to the present day.

There will also be a 40ft long model of a typical Wiltshire railway, and trade stands selling merchandise.

The show is run by the Chippenham-based Bentley Model Railway Group, which holds three shows in Wilt-shire throughout the year.

According to exhibition manager Geoff Endacott the Calne show, held at the leisure centre, is the best attended of the three.

The event, which has been running in Westbury for 17 years, includes a buffet and cabaret, as well as performances from comedians and musicians.

It will take place at the Paragon Hall in Haynes Road and is free to senior citizens and people with special needs, but admission is by ticket only.
