Gritters continued their task to keep primary and secondary roads across Wiltshire open last night and this morning.
The majority of roads were kept clear but the A350 at Lordes Hill, Warminster, was closed for a few hours yesterday evening to allow gritters to tackle both sides of the road.
Doncombe Hill, in Colerne, was closed at 6.30am due to snow and Everleigh Road, in Collingbourne Ducis, was closed due to snow blowing onto the road from a neighbouring field. Both roads remain closed.
Adrian Hampton, head of local highways and streetscenes, said: “We try to keep networks open because we need cars to activate the salt.
“Our force of 50 farmers was out on tractors again, as were the snow ploughs, and the situation was constantly monitored.
“The thaw has already begun so the road situation will improve considerably.”
