Motorcyclist hurt in collision with car
12:08am Saturday 9th March 2013 in Wiltshire
A motorcyclist collided with the side of a car today at about 8.30pm in Yarnbrook, near Westbury.
The incident occurred on the roundabout next to the Platinum Vauxhall garage when a motorcyclist, travelling from Trowbridge towards Westbury, was in collision with a woman in a Ford Fiesta.
The woman, thought to be 84, was driving from Yarnbrook in the direction of North Bradley when the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was in collision with the side of the car.
The crash caused the woman driver to veer off the road and hit a lamp post. Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene shortly after and both the elderlywoman and the man were taken to hospital.
The incident came just hours after another motorcyclist had a lucky escape at The Longs Arms roundabout, just 100 yards down the road at 11.06am.
The motorcyclist was in collision with a lorry which pushed him and his bike for 60 metres before stopping, after cars travelling towards Westbury repeatedly flashed the driver.
