Residents looking to enter the job market have received a boost through a new website from Wiltshire Council.

Work Wiltshire is designed to help over 16s who are looking for work, starting a new job, developing their careers or facing the challenge of losing their job.

The website aims to develop skills by providing a comprehensive guide to opportunities and support available across the county.

The website was developed using funds from Wiltshire Council’s Action for Wiltshire Programme as well as the EU’s INTERREG IVA Channel Programme.

Council leader Jane Scott said: “Supporting the local economy and doing all that we can to create and safeguard jobs is a key priority for the council.”

Dear Jane..I truly hope that the 'funds' that you say you you have been given will go to what you 'say they are for' ?

I must respectfully remind you that if JobCentre Plus did the job that are funded for, many more people would get a better chance to find a job instead of being interogated and degraded..

I am sure that all the Staff at the Council that you have 'let go' are spitting bricks after reading your article.

As for 'supporting the economy', you need to be reminded that this goes a darn sight further than giving pay rises to Senior Management and supporting business's that are owned by your Conservative friends...

How you have the nerve to say that you will 'do everything you can to safeguard jobs', I do not know other than you must get some sort of sick buzz out of spouting off and getting your photo in the paper ?

It is somewhat ambiguous that your Boss at Downing Street wants to come out of the EU yet is still happy to take Funding from them and then you and similar Conservative led Cabiinets waste it on your own personally orientated 'projects' instead of spending it on the Services that local tax payers pay for and do not get ?

Government Funding is what it 'says on the tin' and not for you to decide where it is spent just to increase an image that you most definitely no longer have.

Also, not everyone looking for work has access to a computer and it is about time that helping those looking for work goes back to one to one help at JobCentres

JobCentres have become an insult to those who walk through their doors and find themselves embroiled in Conservative apathy and Cognitive Therapy based support.

I challenge you to going through the degrading process of looking for a job and then, you will discover that no amount of Wiltshire Council new 'websites' will get you no further than being 'interviewed' by one of the Privatised Companies who only want to tick off Statistics instead of actually helping people find a job...

These 'Private Companies' Funded by the Conservative Government are costing the tax payers a fortune and, I wonder if the Staff at the JobCentre in Trowbridge know that their jobs will soon go when the DWP close the JCPlus at By the Sea Road ?

The only reason this new website is being setup is due to the governments universal job search site being a bit of a joke (and should be scrapped). Jane and co wasting money where it's not needed instead of getting out of their ivory towers and actually asking people what is needed. Roll on elections!!!
