RAIL users are still facing some delays after a person was hit by a train between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa.

Many services are beginning to return to normal, although trains between London and Bristol are still facing delays after this morning's incident.

The 10.30am London Paddington to Bristol Temple Meads service was cancelled.

After the incident, a First Great Western statement said: "Due to a person hit by a train between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa trains have to run at reduced speed on all lines.

"Train services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or diverted.

"An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed."

FGW said replacement road transport had been requested to operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon in both directions.

"First Somerset and Avon services are conveying passengers between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon / Westbury in both directions until further notice," the statement added.
