The band, who led the parade through Trowbridge for Sunday’s Remembrance Day service, recently visited the Royal Marines School of Music.

Members spent the whole day mixing with Royal Marine musicians and were given instruction from staff at the School, including drill and concert band – see picture, below.

WO2 Nev Denom RM was particularly impressed with the standard of the WYMB.

All band members learnt a great deal and enjoyed finding out more about Royal Musician training.

The WYMB were treated to a display by the School of Music Parade Band and a Mess Beating from the School’s Corps of Drums.

WYMB Drum Major Martin Clarridge commented ”The day was a fantastic experience for our members, and is a rare opportunity for musical groups. The WYMB offers various valuable educational trips like this, the opportunity for young musicians to perform alongside the best military band in the world is amazing and has inspired our members to be the best they can be.”
