THE 2015 Forever Friends Appeal’s Walk of Life has been officially launched with the help of Hollywood actor Chris O’Dowd.

The event was created in 2008 in memory of Vanessa Kyte, from Rudge, who was treated at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, during her battle with cancer. It is raising money for a new centre.

On Monday, her sister, Nicola Noble, and mother, Dianne Young, were at the Oncology Centre to launch the May 16 walk.

Chris O’Dowd, star of TV’s Moone Boy and the IT Crowd, as well as hit films such as Bridesmaids, was with them to give his backing.

Walkers can choose nine, 12 or 21-mile routes, setting off from Devizes Wharf and heading along the Kennet and Avon canal through Bradford on Avon to finish in Sydney Gardens, Bath.

Registration costs £15 on the Forever Friends website.
