Faresaver Buses is extending its ‘kid’s go free’ scheme to celebrate carrying its one millionth passenger in 2014.

The Faresave ‘kid’s go free’ scheme currently operates on all routes during school holidays to include every Saturday in December in the run up to Christmas.

Daniel Pickford, Faresaver Operations Manager says that ‘the ‘kid’s go free’ scheme is very popular with passengers, allowing a fare paying adult to take up to two children free.

"This normally operates during school holidays, but Faresaver has decided to extend it for a trial period on Saturdays up until Christmas. It’s all about giving something back to our regular users."

Any child passenger travelling unaccompanied can travel on Saturdays in December for a ‘Santa Special’ flat fare of £1.

Faresaver says that as an independent, family-owned, bus company it is keen to promote bus use on its routes.

"We recognise that with bus usage falling in some parts of the country, we need to encourage the next generation to make use of bus services in order to continue to enhance routes with more frequent buses and attractive fare initiatives," said Mr Pickford.
