Wiltshire Council is set to save more than £7,000 a year on energy bills thanks to solar panels installed at three sites.
County Hall, Trowbridge, Monkton Park in Chippenham and Bradbury Manor in Devizes, have panels which will bring a yearly carbon dioxide reduction of 39.8 tonnes – reducing the council’s carbon footprint.
The panels at County Hall will save an estimated of £1,733 a year and an estimated annual income – by selling energy back to the national grid – of about £2,500.
At Bradbury Manor the panels are expected to save the council £660 a year, with an income of £2,550 and the Monkton Park solar panels are set to save the council £4,950 each year with an annual income of £6,004.
The total installation cost of the project is £115,000 and the panels have a lifetime of 20 years.
