RAINFALL in April was slightly above the average according to amateur weatherman Geoff Witts who records the weather for Wiltshire Council at his Steeple Ashton home.
The wettest day was recorded as April 11 where 12.4mm of rain fell in 24 hours.
Temperatures, however, were below normal as the coldest day was April 27 when temperatures plummeted to -1.8C. The warmest day was April 13 when Wiltshire basked in sunshine, with temperatures peaking at 18.8C.
Mr Witts added that after all three winter months had above average temperatures, March and April were colder than normal.
