LACOCK will take a step back in time this weekend as thousands are expected to pour into the village for the Lacock at War extravaganza.

The two day event, organised by The West Wilts Area of the Military Vehicle Trust, will see military vehicles, living history groups, vintage and military traders, vintage fashion shows and much more from 10am-5pm.

Second World War veterans will be joining the spectators who will be treated to a Lancaster flypast on Saturday from 2.25pm.

This is the first time the event is absolutely free after organisers received a grant from the Military Vehicle Trust which will keep it free for the next five years.

One of the main organisers, Jason Close, said: "I cannot wait for it. It has been a fantastic event in the past and I think it should be another cracker this time around. We had around 6,500 last year so hopefully we can exceed that."

Lacock at War aims to commemorate servicemen’s endeavours and celebrate the Great British wartime spirit.
