ONE person has been taken to hospital as a precaution by South West Ambulance Service following a chemical incident at Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Course.

South West Ambulance were called to the scene at 11.44am this morning to assist a female member of staff in her thirties who was experiencing breathing difficulties. 

Four fire crews, a command unit and police also responded to the call where a chlorine spillage was reported. 

Charles Morgan, Bowood Hotel, Spa and Golf Resort's general manager, said: "We are glad to report that any danger caused by chemicals from the swimming pool at The Spa has been dealt with without any injury.

"We would like to thank Dorset and Wiltshire Emergency Services for their swift response and helping our staff and guests."
