PASSENGERS planning on travelling by train this weekend are being reminded to double check train times before they set off, as engineering works continue.

Network Rail will be continuing with its electrification works around the railway line as it passes through Swindon.

As a result services between Didcot Parkway and Swindon will be altered. There will be one train an hour between Bristol Temple Meads and London Paddington using a diverted route.

These trains will not call at Didcot Parkway, Swindon or Chippenham, and will add ten minutes to the journey time.

There will be one train an hour between Swansea and London Paddington using diverted routes, adding up to 70 minutes to the journey time.

On Saturday these trains will not call at Didcot Parkway but will call at Chippenham and Swindon.

On Sunday these trains will not call at Didcot Parkway but will call at Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads. There will be one train an hour between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon.

Buses will be running between Swindon, Didcot Parkway and Reading stations, with fast bus services between Swindon and Reading.

Services between Swindon and Westbury via Melksham will run to an amended timetable.
