WILTSHIRE care home residents were all invited to get into the festive spirit with a Christmas party which was organised by the Order of St John’s Care Trust.

Residents from across the country packed the Corn Exchange in Devizes to enjoy a Winter Wonderland- themed party and come together during the festive period.

Over 140 residents, volunteers and team members from across the county attended the event, which included musical entertainment and a Christmas buffet tea. The event also included the judging of our festive Christmas wreath competition. Everyone who attended was able to cast their vote to select the top three designs.

Aaron Whitehead, Wiltshire Assistant Operations Director for OSJCT, said: “Christmas is one of the most special times of year for our residents. Not only does it bring back many fond memories, but it’s also the perfect time to spend time with family, friends and other residents from across the county.”

The annual party aimed to spread Christmas cheer amongst the residents of the Order of St John’s Care Trust homes, emphasizing that Christmas is a time for togetherness and happiness.

“This season is a really important time. Our hope for the annual Christmas party was that, by spreading some festive cheer, it would help trigger reminiscence of past Christmases and based on the feedback of residents, we think it did just that, which is fantastic,” added Mr Whitehead.

The OSJCT trust, which has 18 out of their 68 homes operating in Wiltshire, cares for more than 3,500 residents across four counties and is dedicated to providing care to the elderly since being established in 1991.
