ISABELLE McMillan was born at the Royal United Hospital in Bath at 2.39am on Christmas Day, weighing in at 9lb 5oz.

She was due to be born on December 23 but arrived two days late.

She is the first child for Stuart and Jennifer, who live in Frome and married in Bradford on Avon in April after being together for two years.

Mr McMillan said: “It was a bit weird being in hospital on Christmas Day but our main concern was making sure Isabelle was happy and healthy, which she thankfully was, and we will continue to do so.

“This Christmas has been very different to normal because we haven’t seen our friends and family nearly as much, but we were expecting it to be like that.

“Jennifer’s brothers and sisters came to visit us in hospital which was nice.

“We’re back in Frome now and are going to spend the next few weeks introducing Isabelle to our families.

“We thought about going for a Christmas name but instead settled with Isabelle, which I guess sounds a little bit festive without being obvious.”

The 33-year-old added that staff at the hospital were ‘absolutely wonderful’ and that it was a straightforward pregnancy with his wife experiencing no unusual cravings.
