THE deadline for feedback on the planned relocation of the Bath RUH Rheumatology and Therapies Services from the town to the RUH site is still open for the public for just under two weeks.

Patients and carers who currently use the site or have an interest in the therapies service have until January 17 to submit their feedback and share their views on the plans, as the three month long public consultation comes to an end.

The new purpose built RNHRD and Therapies Centre is currently being planned by the Bath RUH Foundations Trust which will mean it moving into from the centre in Upper Borough Walls to a new building on the Combe Park site in bath. The plans currently detail a new hydrotherapy pool, a gym, group rooms and improved waiting facilities for the patients.

Dr Raj Sengupta, consultant rheumatologist and lead for the Ankylosing Spondylitis service, said: “We have really appreciate hearing people’s views, and we are grateful to those who have already attended an event, dropped us an email or filled in a questionnaire. We want to continue to provide the best services for current and future patients, so we’re keen to hear from as many people as possible to help us shape our future.”

Moving the services provided by Bath RUH is part of a phased approach to relocating all RNHRD services over the next three years from the Mineral Hospital site to the RUH, or another appropriate, community-accessible setting.

The RNHRD’s Clinical Measurement service currently provides bone mineral scanning and specialist imaging services and is closely linked to the services provided at the original site near Bath Guildhall. The service will relocate at the same time to the RUH’s Nuclear Medicine Department before the final move to the Dyson Cancer Centre which is due to open its doors in 2020.
