A BAG strap, believed to belong to the Trowbridge murder suspect, has been found in town.

The strap and pad, featuring a Star Wars logo, was found by Wiltshire Police as a result of extensive searches. Detectives believe the strap to be consistent with a messenger style bag which may also feature a Star Wars logo.

Deputy Senior Investigating Officer Jim Taylor, of the Brunel Major Crime Investigation Team, said: “I’d like to ask the public to please take a look at these pictures and ask yourselves if anyone you know may own a bag like this.

“We would also encourage anyone that may have seen a man carrying a broken messenger shoulder bag or satchel in the area of Union Street between 1.25am and 1.35am to please get in touch. Although the information you have may seem small or insignificant to you, it could be really vital to our investigation.”

Since Wiltshire Police released CCTV footage yesterday, more than 30 people have called the Major Investigation Room (MIR).

Det Insp Taylor said: “We are really grateful to the members of the public who have contacted us with information so far and we are working around the clock to follow up all lines of enquiry.

“As part of our investigations we have been tirelessly analysing all CCTV footage available to us, but we would like to appeal to the public to contact us immediately if they have any private CCTV footage which we have not yet retrieved, as well as any dash cam footage from drivers. Although this incident happened in the early hours, the CCTV footage clearly shows a number of vehicles in the vicinity around this time. If you have a dash cam in your vehicle, you could have footage which could really assist our investigation.

“I would like to continue to reassure the close-knit community in Trowbridge that we are doing all that we can to find out who is responsible for this crime and will leave no stone unturned in bringing the offender to justice.

“Our house-to-house enquiries are once again continuing today and we have increased foot patrols in the town. If you see an increased police presence in the town, rest assured this is all part of our investigation.

“It’s important to stress that we still firmly believe that the answer to this crime lies within the community. Please, if you know something, do the right thing. A family has been left devastated at the loss of Jordan so suddenly and, along with his many friends and the wider community, are desperate for justice to be done.”
