Staff and volunteers from Healthcare Wiltshire will be taking to the roads of Wiltshire this September for a two week roadshow.

The organisation's Campervan and Comments Tour will see them travelling 400 miles around the county in a 1960's campervan to find out what people think about their local health care services.

Lucie Woodruff, Healthwatch Wiltshire manager said: "We want to reach at least 1000 people from all over Wiltshire in just two weeks.

"We thought it would be a great idea to hire a campervan and visit places where people might not have heard of Healthwatch before.

"Wiltshire is such a huge county and we thought a roadshow would be a great way to reach more people and give them the opportunity to have their voice heard. Plus, everyone who we speak to will get free refreshments and a cupcake too."

The role of a local Healthwatch is to make sure the health and care system in the area meets the needs of the people who use it. Feedback is gathered from patients and their families on services such as GP surgeries, care homes, hospitals, mental health and social care.

These findings are then taken to the organisations which plan, pay for and deliver health and care services.

Healthwatch Wiltshire will be visiting Giffords Surgery and Young in Melksham in the afternoon on September 25, Bradford on Avon Medical Centre in the afternoon on September 26, The Shires, Trowbridge and Trowbridge Men's Shed in the morning on September 27, Warminster Market in the morning on September 29, and Leigh Park Community Centre in Westbury in the afternoon on September 29.
