ONE of the most highly regarded floral designers in the country gave a demonstration and workshop for Bradford & District Flower Club members in Holt last Saturday.

Angela Turner is a highly skilled floral arranger and demonstrator whose reputation goes far beyond the world of flowers and flower arranging.

She is a six times Chelsea Gold medal winner, who is a highly regarded designer responsible for Flower Festivals in both Winchester and Salisbury Cathedral.

Her work includes the magnificent displays to celebrate the 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta in 2015.

Twenty-one club members attended Holt Village Hall for the workshop, as Angela has a reputation for very innovative approaches to floral design.

Flower Club spokesperson June Evans said: “Angela showed us four different designs, with varying degrees of difficulty, and answering any questions that arose.

“We then set about the task of producing our own arrangements, based loosely around her designs, some of us producing one and the more adventurous producing two.

“Angela spoke to us all individually several times offering advice and encouragement. After the arrangements were completed they were put on display for us all to see each other’s results.

“The display was really lovely and even though Angela had shown us her designs we had all produced our own individual arrangements.”

The Bradford & District Flower Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at Holt Village Hall at 7.30pm. For further details contact Helen Curtis on 01225 868535 or helencurtis23@hotmail.co.uk
