Cats In Distress
The independent cat welfare, rehoming and rehabilitation charity, based in Frome, helps cats from whatever geographical location, if they have space we will not turn a cat away. Since being established in May 2016 they have helped over 130 cats whether domestic, abandoned or feral. The charity is run by a group of unpaid trustees and volunteers and is founded on the belief of providing care and compassion to animals and people. All money received goes to helping more cats.
An appeal was launched in January to raise £2,000 for the purchase and refurbishment of new foster pens. Thanks to a great public response, and after a recent In Store collection at ASDA Frome which raised £277, they are delighted to announce that they’ve now reached the target. The pens have been totally refurbished cleaned and painted, and a new roof, sneeze barrier and a security corridor fitted, ready to welcome the first new guests.
Donations can still be made by cheque, made payable to Cats In Distress and sent to Rectory Cottage, Berkley, Frome BA11 5JH or made through the website www.cats-in-distress.org
