Free half term swimming for under 16s

Under 17s will be able to swim for free during next week's half term school holiday.

Children aged up to 16 won't have to pay for public swimming sessions at Wiltshire Council and DC Leisure managed swimming pools from October 25 to November 2.

The free sessions proved popular over the summer with more than 58,800 taken over July and August this year.

Cabinet member for leisure Stuart Wheeler, said: "This free swimming has already proved a real success with huge numbers of young people taking advantage of a free healthy way to spend their holidays.
"Keeping fit is so important and we hope having these free sessions will encourage young people to stay active in the long term as well."

Those under 16 will be able to gain free access to all public swimming sessions during the Wiltshire Council recognised school holidays, but each leisure centre retains the right to request proof of age before granting entry.
