PARENTS Shailan and Lisa Chudasama gave one member of their family an extra special Christmas surprise, after their newborn was delivered on Christmas Day.

The couple from Bradford on Avon kept Mrs Chudasama’s mum Hazel in the dark about the birth of Eden, who was born at their home in Coppice Hill at 7.07am.

While Eden, who weighed 7lb, is their first child together, she is Mrs Chudasama’s third child, following her two other daughters Teri, 20, and Jessica, 17.

Mr and Mrs Chudasama, who have been together for almost two years, conspired with her father Alan to keep the birth a secret from her mum until she arrived for Christmas lunch.

Mr Chudasama said: “Alan was cooking the Christmas lunch so he found out when he came around at 10am, but we wanted to surprise Lisa’s mum when she came over at 1pm for lunch.

“It wasn’t easy as Alan’s not very good at keeping secrets, especially one as big as this for three hours, but it was worth it as Hazel was completely surprised.”

Alfred William Alexander Cook will also be receiving birthday and Christmas presents on the same day in future after being delivered at Bath’s Royal United Hospital at 8.38am.

Parents Alix and David Cook, of Elmfield, Bradford on Avon, are both teachers, with Mrs Cook teaching at Crockerton School and Mr Cook at Box Primary School.

Their first child was due on December 28, but Alfred arrived a few days early.

Mrs Cook said: “We are absolutely delighted. It wasn’t exactly the usual Christmas Day, but it was even more special.”

Meanwhile, Victoria Anaudov arrived into the world 13 minutes into Boxing Day at Trowbridge Birthing Centre. She kept parents Georgi Anaudov and Aneliya Atanasova, both 32, waiting after originally being due on December 20.

Mr Anaudov said: “We are delighted and we couldn’t be any happier.”
