Police seek witnesses after New Year's Eve glass attack in Trowbridge

Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses after a young man was attacked with a glass during celebrations to usher in the New Year in Trowbridge.

Early on Tuesday, January 1 trouble broke out involving a number of people in the Westfield Road area of Studley Green.

During the disorder an 18-year-old local man received neck and face injuries and needed treatment at Trowbridge Hospital.

Police carried out house-to-house enquiries and interviewed a number of witnesses.

As a result, two men, aged 21, were arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm.

A 28-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault causing grievous bodily harm. The three, who all live locally, were taken into custody at Melksham Police Station and later released on police bail.

Anyone who was in the John Bull pub or who saw what happened at or near the mini roundabout in Westfield Road, or who has any information, is asked to call Wiltshire Police on 101 and ask for Tracey Mead in Melksham CID.
