Wiltshire Police are appealing for information after a man was viciously attacked in Trowbridge in the early hours of Christmas Day.

The 20-year-old was with a friend outside the Albany Palace in Park Road when a man approached.

An argument began and the man then head-butted the 20-year-old several times. The victim ran off and was chased along Castle Street at about 1am.

Witnesses say one man grabbed him round the neck and forced him to the ground where he was punched and kicked.

Door staff from a nearby venue intervened and the suspects left the scene in a black taxi.

PC Fiona Cuthbert said: “This was a vicious assault during which the victim has been chased through Trowbridge town centre and pulled to the ground in a headlock.

“Whilst on the ground the men have kicked and punched the victim unconscious.

“After examining CCTV footage of the incident I am very keen to speak to three men who were in the area at the time to see whether they can assist us with our enquiries.”

If you are one of the people in the pictures, or you think you know who they are, please call Wiltshire Police on 101 and ask for PC Cuthbert at Trowbridge Police Station. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
