Proposals for a new primary school in the east of Trowbridge will be discussed at a workshop at the Town Hall at 6pm on Monday.
The event will outline the Department for Education process that has to be followed for an academy to be opened.
Wiltshire Council’s manager for school strategic planning, Nick Glass, said: “We are inviting people who we know want to be there such as councillors, the diocese, all local headteachers and any other interested parties.
“We will talk about some of the criteria that we as a council have to use to select our preferred bidder.”
Mr Glass said he would be contacting organisations that might want to be involved with governing the new academy, and would welcome them to attend the information event.
It is hoped that a planning application including Wiltshire Council’s preferred bidder will be put forward for consideration at a cabinet meeting later this year.
