Bosses at the Royal United Hospital, Bath, say violence towards staff will not be tolerated.

The warning has come after a woman was arrested and prosecuted for using threatening words or behaviour towards staff at the hospital on more than one occasion.

Nicholas Reed, security manager for the RUH, said: “Violence towards staff, both physical and verbal, will not be tolerated. Staff have the right to be safe at work. We have a range of sanctions available to use and if we need to pursue these, including prosecution through the courts, we will do it.”
