Manager Rob Mead and staff at the Co-operative food store in fancy dress for their rock and roll themed fundraising launch
Staff at The Co-operative food store in Westbury dressed like rock stars to launch fundraising for their charity of the year, Carers Trust.
The Kingfisher Drive store hit the right note with young adult carers with a Rock Around the Clock theme, in which employees dressed up and went around with collection boxes.
There are an estimated half-million UK 14 to 25-year-olds who care for a family member or friend who are ill, frail, disabled or have mental health or addiction problems, about 47,000 of them in Wiltshire.
The Co-operative’s 100,000 staff across its businesses, including food, financial services, funeral care and pharmacy, are aiming to raise £5million to transform the lives of the UK’s unpaid young adult carers.
Manager Simon Bush said: “The store team is always really keen to get behind charity fundraising and our Rock Around the Clock-themed launch was a fun way of raising the profile of a really worthwhile cause.
“I think customers enjoyed the spectacle and we look forward to doing more fundraising activity.”
