A man is to face trial by judge and jury accused of raping a young girl almost 30 years ago.
David Mullis is also charged with indecently assaulting the same girl over the same four-year period in the 1980s.
The 64-year-old, of Silver Street, Kington Langley, pleaded not guilty to rape and indecent assault when he appeared before a judge at Swindon Crown Court.
The offences are said to have taken place between November 1983 and November 1987 when the girl was under the age of 16.
Martin Lanchester, prosecuting, told the court that the rape charge was a 'multiple incident count' meaning it reflected a number of similar incidents.
Judge Douglas Field adjourned the case for a trial on Monday, April 8 and released Mullis on conditional bail until then.
