Wiltshire Police is appealing for witnesses after an assault in Melksham.
A 30-year-old local man was walking along the High Street, near Lloyds Bank when he was headbutted by another man around 8pm on Friday February 8.
A 36-year-old man from Melksham was subsequently arrested on suspicion of Common Assault and has since been released on police bail, without charge, pending further enquiries.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident to contact Wiltshire Police.
Local Crime investigator Eleanor Bettles said: “As part of my investigation I am keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and either witnessed the incident or has any information in relation to it.
“Even the smallest piece of information might help us in this investigation.
“All information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
Any witnesses are asked to contact Local Crime Investigator Eleanor Bettles at Melksham Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information may be left anonymously if preferred.
