Motorists are being warned that an abnormal load will be travelling through Wiltshire this weekend.

A specialised load transporter carrying a Boeing 737 aircraft fuselage will be escorted by Wiltshire Police from RAF Kemble at about 7.15am on Sunday.

The transporter and fuselage, a gross weight of 70 tonnes, will travel to Hereford and will head to Cirencester from RAF Kemble on the A429. It will then head south on the A419 towards M4 junction 15, before travelling westbound on the motorway past Junction 16 (Royal Wootton Bassett), Junction 17 (Chippenham) and Junction 18 (Bath).

Due to the size of the transporter, while travelling on the A419 it will take up both southbound carriageways.

Anyone travelling over this period should allow sufficient additional time for their journey and regular updates and travel information will be passed from the Wiltshire Police control room at Devizes.
