A photographer has made a snap decision visit as many businesses as possible in 36 hours to get group shots of staff in aid of Comic Relief.

The 27-year-old Christo Nicolle from Stockton aims to set a world record with his marathon effort between Warminster and Salisbury, which will start at 9am on March 14 and finish at 9pm on March 15.

Mr Nicolle, a wedding and events photographer, said: “I thought I would raise about £2-300, but it has really taken off and I have already had around 50 business pledge money, which would come to around £1,300 if I make it to all of them.

“I’m now aiming to raise £2-3,000, although it’s going to be down to whether I can get around to everyone.

“It’s going to be pretty full-on, but I will have a couple of friends helping me with the driving.”

Anyone keen to have the photographer take a novelty staff picture can email him on contact@christonicolle.

This year, Comic Relief is celebrating its 25th anniversary and a series of fundraising events are planned across Wiltshire to support the March 15 event.

In Trowbridge pregnant women are getting colourful for Comic Relief, raising funds by having their baby bumps painted.

Lorna Blake, 23, of St Thomas Road, who runs Face Painting by Bounce-A-Roo, has been supporting the charity by painting colourful designs for mothers-to-be.

She is part of 25 artists all over the country, who have already smashed their fundraising target of £1,000 by totalling £1,389, so far, as part of their National Bump-A-Thon Team. Miss Blake, who has raised £169, said: “It’s been going really well and I’m having a big push over the next few weeks. I’ve got 14 girls lined up and I could probably do about 10 more.

“We’ve had sponsorship from the girls’ friends and families, as well as members of the public who just think it’s a good cause. We are really pleased with the support we’ve had.”

After speaking to expectant mothers, the artist creates a design for the bumps and asks for a minimum of a £5 in sponsorship, with any other donations welcome.

In Bradford on Avon, businesses will be coming to Sainsbury’s to take part in a 110km row, in aid of the appeal, between 10am-4pm on March 15 and 16.
