Trowbridge woman denies benefit fraud charges

A woman is to face trial by judge and jury charged with claiming benefits she wasn't entitled to.
Catherine Daley is accused of failing to tell the authorities she was living 'in a common household' with a man who was working.
It is alleged that between June 2006 and November 2011 the 30-year-old did not tell Wiltshire Council she was cohabiting.
Daley, of Jacklins Close, Hilperton Marsh, Trowbridge, denied the charges, which relate to payments including housing and council tax benefits, when she appeared at Swindon Crown Court on Friday.
She pleaded not guilty to failing to notify a change in circumstances and making a false representation to obtain benefits.
Daley, who also denied two charges of dishonestly making a false statement or representation to obtain benefits, will appear on trial on Tuesday, April 30 and has been released on unconditional bail.
