Movement workshops captured on film

BRADFORD ON AVON theatre company Sukosta welcomed more than 50 people to their workshops How We Move last week.

Participants aged six to 81 took part in an experiment into the way people move in their everyday lives.

There were a variety of professions represented, with teachers, students, construction workers, butchers and gardeners taking part.

Saturday’s workshop at The Fat Fowl was given an international flavour when a group of travellers from Brazil joined in the fun.

Working with talented Wiltshire College film student Jodie Edmunds, project director Kosta Andrea filmed  people individually and in groups. He has been editing the footage this week into an abstract collection of images and repeated patterns that echo the textures and colours of piano music.

The study will form part of the new production Piano Cabaret, which is being premiered at The Pound, Corsham, on May 10 and will be shown at Salisbury International Arts Festival in June.

Kosta said: “We really enjoyed meeting everyone, and look forward to seeing all the footage edited together.

“There will be a presentation evening of the filmic documentation on Friday, at 8pm in the Fat Fowl.

“Hopefully, many of the workshop participants will be keen to join us and enjoy their special contribution.”
