But there's something fundamentally wrong with a country when a family of 2 adults/2 kids NEEDS housing benefit to be able to keep a roof over their heads - and BOTH adults are WORKING!!!
No - the new changes are about clawing back benefits from easy targets. The quiet, law-abiding "trying to pay their way" section of the community that will NEVER own their own homes - no matter how hard they work - (they're not lazy - they have a strong work ethic and between them pay more in taxes to support this country than a lot of those who look down on them.)
I'd like to see a stop to the automatic handing out of homes and benefits to kids who have kids. Stop handing money & properties to alcoholics, to drug-dealing scumbags and others who's intentions are, like the previous 3 generations of their families - to sit on their overstuffed backsides and whine for more benefits while trashing their homes and the neighbourhoods they live in.
If rents were capped to a sensible level it would save our benefit bill millions. OK - so SOME landlords wouldn't make such a fantastic profit quite as quickly as they did - but they'd STILL make a very healthy profit.
We can't afford the gravy train - but let's not cut our throats to save a few pennies. Don't strangle those who prop up this country - better we cut off those who have no intention of paying their own way - EVER.

Ask any Disabled and/or Elderly person in Wiltshire how they feel about seeing Substance Abusers and Assylum Seekers benefit before they do.
The fundamental fact is that Entitlement Rules are archaic, and unfair and the people who administer them are the ones who are "dishing out dosh" in what is an unethical and unfair way.
The Welfare Reform Act (by Royal Assent) was not thought about and that was proved this week by the much needed changes to the under occupation tax which thankfully now will see the Disabled, Armed Forces and Foster Parents get what is their Right.
There are and always will be "scroungers" and the only way to ensure this stops is for the administrators to put a stop to paying out those who have no Entitlement because they are lying .
The "scroungers" are in a minority and sadly, the real people who are in need and Entitlement are having to stand at the back of a bureaucratic queue.
