Pupils at St Augustine’s Catholic College hit a high note with their musician of the year competition.

The event, at Wiltshire Music Centre,Bradford on Avon, was opened by last year’s winner, Sorcha Rudgley, back from Cardiff University to perform.

This year’s winner was violinist Joanna Mlot, a Year 13 student, with Year 9 singer Clover Kayne runner-up.

The most promising performance went to Year 11 drummer Rowan Fisher.

The school has run the competition for 22 years.
