Extras cost Winsley barista top three coffee placing

First published in Latest News

A barista at Hartley Farm Shop and Cafe, Winsley, who hoped to top the leaderboard the UK Latte Art Championship, lost points due to over-presentation.

Matt Woolley, 23, came seventh out of 12 at the London event last Friday, after producing four designs in six minutes.

He said: “I laid the tablecloth, glasses and napkins, but it says you may be penalised for having too much extra.

“They [judges] said I would have made the top three.”

Yeah, and if I'd been fitter, was better at football and could actually score goals, I would have been a Premiership footballer.

Doesn't matter what the judges said, you came 7th, not in the top 3!
