A Trowbridge family raised £1,200 through a charity 80ft abseil at Split Rock Quarry earlier this month.
Maxine Armitage, along with her children Poppy, eight, Daisy, 10, Josh, 19, and Marcus, 21, took part in the event forming a group of 13 people in aid of Crohn’s in Childhood Research Assoc-iation (CICRA).
Daisy, who attends Belle-field Primary School, has Crohn’s, a form of inflammatory bowel disease. Miss Armitage said: “We had a brilliant afternoon, and a lot of us conquered our fear of heights.”
Next year, the group hope to climb Ben Nevis, in Scotland, to raise more money for the charity.
A line dancing event supporting CICRA will take place at the Wesley Road Club, in Trowbridge, at 7.30pm on July 6.
